Why I Think Durant Should Seriously Consider Boston
With the signing of star center Al Horford yesterday, the Celtics have immediately made themselves title contenders. But to win a ring, I feel that there is still one more piece that needs to fall, and he is the biggest name in free agency; Kevin Durant.
With Horford in Boston and Evan Turner gone, the Boston Celtics have a need at SF, as Jae Crowder can't do the job. If the Celtics can sign Durant, they would be my pick to win the NBA Championship, but of course Durant would need to hop on board first. In order to sign Durant, I think they would need to trade away Jae Crowder, and let Jonas Jerbenko, and Amir Johnson walk in free agency. If I were Durant, the Celtics would be a team I look long and hard at as they already have a crazy deep team and are a efficient scorer away from a championship, Durant can do everything and would be a perfect fit in Boston, and also imagine if GM Danny Ainge can package Crowder, Jaylen Brown, and the rights to Amir Johnson to the Bulls for Jimmy Butler. If Ainge could pull this trade off, Durant would have to go to Boston. The reason why Durant will most likely not go to Golden State is because he would be Stephen Curry's sidekick, and he wants to be the guy on the team he goes to, and with the Celtics, he would be the guy. Watch out for those Celtics as we progress in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes.
