Don't Sleep Part 2
The NBA season is upon us and year by year there are teams that come out of nowhere and shock the world. Whether it is just making the playoffs, knocking off a top seed, or perhaps making a run for the title, a sleeper team is one that captures the interest of basketball fans everywhere. That leaves us with the question, who are these years sleepers in the Eastern Conference?
Indiana Pacers
The Pacers had maybe the overlooked offseason, they acquired Jeff Teague, and Thaddeus Young who are both very very solid players. Al Jefferson was another great signing, as it gives the Pacers some of the toughness they had before Paul George hurt his leg. Expect Myles Turner to put up a fight for the Most Improved Player award, possibly putting up averages of 15 points and 9 rebounds.
Prediction: Pacers earn 2 seed, lose in Eastern Conference Finals.
Atlanta Hawks
This one may be just be a little bit of a stretch. I think Dwight Howard could see a bit of a resurgence with his hometown team. I could see Howard have about 18 PPG and around 12 RPG. This Hawks team will surprise many.
Prediction: Hawks earn 7 seed, lose to Pacers in the first round.
Chicago Bulls
It’s about time we see another Bulls team lose to LeBron. This Bulls team was reloaded with Father Prime himself Dwyane Wade, and passing wizard Rajon Rondo. I am waiting to see how the shooting situation will work out as they don’t have good shooters, in fact Wade and Rondo are pretty bad shooters, especially Rondo. But all in all, this will be a very fun team.
Prediction: Bulls earn 5 seed, lose to Cavaliers in Eastern Conference Semifinals.
